| Eco-Friendly lubricants |
Governments all over the world are already enacting legislation that will hold companies responsible for any damage they cause to the environment – whether or not the damage was anticipated or intentional. It is therefore becoming increasingly necessary that these companies ensure that their practices and policies conform with all applicable environmental laws.
Thermal-Lube produces several lubricant products designed specifically to be environmentally responsible. These products are formulated with synthetic (PAOs, esters, polyglycols) or natural base stocks (vegetable oils, water), blended with performance-enhancing additives to provide high-performance products that will also help protect the planet.
Biodegradable versus Ecological
As yet, there is no accepted industry-standard qualification of the terms “biodegradable” or “biodegrabability”, which can be misleading when used in certain contexts. In addition, a biodegradable product is not always the best solution. For example, a biodegradable lubricant would be rather ineffective in an aquatic environment, as it would constantly need to be replaced. A more desirable solution would be a waterproof synthetic that would not leach into the environment. In order to be categorized as “Eco-friendly”, a lubricant must be largely composed of renewable materials, must not be bio-accumulative, and most be transformable by living organisms.
Thermal-Lube’s oils eco-friendly oils are all fully compatible with our patented COAT® Fluid Life Extension Technology, and can be re-additised to maximise fluid integrity while greatly reducing the financial and ecological costs of treating and disposing of use oil. In addition, the COAT® System can also be used to verify and validate system conversion from conventional to eco-friendly fluids.
